I photographed Sharlene when she was pregnant two years ago with Charlize.
Isn’t she stunning?!

How cute is Charlize!

How do you keep a two year old still? Like this…..

some of my favourites from the session:

Meet Julia….a beautiful little two year old with a terrible disease.
Julia was diagnosed with leukemia last October. She is considered very high risk and has to go through very intense chemotherapy and radiation. Her treatment plan is projected to be about two years assuming she has no setbacks. In the first three months of Julia’s treatment plan, she was hospitalized and spent a total of seven days at home. Julia’s mom has been caring for her and running back and forth between Welland and McMaster Hospital. Her employer has been very generous, granting her a paid leave but, unfortunately, that has run out.
Due to the financial stress the family is going through on top of the stress of what Julia is going through, their family and friends organized a fundraiser for Julia. A silent auction gala is being held on April 4th and I’ve received word that it is SOLD OUT!!!
So this is where I come in. I received an email with Julia’s story. I immediately donated a photo session with prints to the silent auction along with a photo session for Julia and her brothers. This is the beauty of being a photographer. I have a gift that I can give - the gift of photographs and capturing time and it was my absolute pleasure capturing Julia and her brothers!
If you would like to make a donation, a paypal account has been set up: Julia’s Journey

a little sneak peak…..

I was soooo excited about this session - my first set of newborn twins! I have photographed many twins in the past, but never newborns. OMG….don’t you just want to squish them!

Don’t you just love the baby hair and wrinkles…..sigh.

O.K. I think I posted enough!
So what’s with me and facing my fears? As you recall, back in October, I faced one of my biggest fears - public speaking.See October post - Personal and Professional Milestone.
Well, I just got back from a cruise with my family where I conquered my 2nd biggest fear - heights. I am terrified of heights and I know I share this fear with many of you out there. My family was SHOCKED when I told them I had booked a zip line excursion in the jungles of Belize. They were skeptical whether or not I would actually follow through. I cannot tell you how terrified I was while on the highest platform built around a massive tree. I think I actually started going into shock - my body began to shake uncontrollably - that’s how terrified I was. Alex looked at me with concern and said “Mommy, you don’t have to do this”. I know I didn’t have to…but I wanted to! Well, I did it! I ziplined across 8 platforms suspended in the beautiful jungles of Belize. Although I was terrified, I have to admit it was so exhilarating!

Would I do it again? I actually would!
I just want to mention that I booked this excursion with Major Tom. We did the combination cave tubing and ziplining. If anyone out there is cruising and one of your stops is Belize, I highly recommend booking your excursion with Major Tom. He’s extremely reputable, professional and all of his guides were great.
You may recognize this little face from my website. This is Nathan in 2005:
