Sam is my dad’s name…so of course I love his name! These were taken in the comfort of Sam’s home in Grimsby. We had the heat cranked up so high - I think I lost a few pounds during the shoot! It needs to by nice and toasty for the babies - so it’s whatever it takes to get them comfortable, warm and sleepy.
Sarah and Shane - thank-you so much for welcoming me into your home. It’s obvious you’re going to make wonderful parents!
Amelie wasn’t herself the day of the shoot, but we still managed to get some amazing shots.

You know - I used to dread family photos. Not anymore. I love them so much! To me, it’s not about getting the perfectly posed photo with everyone looking at the camera. It’s about capturing the interaction, the bonds, the love.
Stacey is just the cutest mom to be! I had so much fun photographing her and I can’t wait for the newborn session!

It is with a heavy heart that I write this post. Julia, the beautiful little girl that I photographed in March, passed away yesterday. My heart aches for her family - I just can’t imagine what they’re going through right now. My prayers go out to them.

OMG…I seriously wanted to keep him for the day! Look at his hair - don’t you love it? And his beautiful eyes!
I can’t believe summer is over! I was going through my summer photos from the cottage and had to share these. I had this photo in my head since last summer and finally managed to take it this year.
It wasn’t the easiest to get. First, we needed a beautiful sunset and considering the number of rainy days we had, our days were limited. Secondly, I needed a willing model (the problem was So You Think You Can Dance was always on when we had a sunset and Alex didn’t want to miss it. O.k. - I didn’t want to miss it either). And thirdly, I needed a co-pilot to steer the paddle boat!
We took the paddle boat out to a small rock island near the cottage. The water was really rough, so Mackenzie, my co-pilot, had a hard time keeping the paddle boat in position while I tried to take the photos. It was completely worth it though, because I *love* these images! Now which do I enlarge?
Helena - isn’t that a beautiful name? She is such a beautiful baby - which is no surprise - look at her gorgeous parents!
I photographed these adorable sisters when Evan was just a newborn. I’m so glad mom brought them back for another session. I would not have recognized Evan - she had dark curly hair as a baby. Emma has matured into such a beautiful, polite girl and I love that she loves hanging out at the studio!
Mom really wanted outdoor photos but it poured rain the day of the session. We took studio shots instead and I absolutely love the way they turned out!
Towards the end of the session, it was just sprinkling lightly so we headed to the backyard for some shots. The grass was drenched but the girls were troopers and didn’t really mind. I think I got the shots mom was looking for!
