Meet 5 week old Aubrie….how adorable is she?

I normally photograph newborns when they’re less than two weeks old. Why? They’re so sleepy at this point and love to curl up. A one month old can be a challenge to photograph. At this point, they are very aware of their surroundings and are constantly moving with flailing arms.
Once we took some awake shots and family shots, I was on a mission to get Abigail asleep. She gave me a bit of a hard time but I now consider myself the baby whisperer ! Abigail did fall asleep….and we captured these precious photos of her. Isn’t she gorgeous?

Here’s another session taken at a client’s home. Meet 2 week old Alexander who was well over 9 lbs at birth…wow.
Look at his fingers in this photo…..adorable.

I love little piggies…

I looove taking photos in my clients’ homes. It allows us to get a bit creative and use items throughout the house in the photos…like in this case….on the piano. Meet sweet Gabriella:

I have so many amazing photos from this session….I wish I could share them all! Meet 2 week old Charlee.

Charlee is such a gorgeous baby!

omg….look at those eyelashes and those squishy lips!

I’ve been loving all the newborns coming through the studio lately. I love their smell, their flaky dry skin, the hair on their back, their little toes and fingers. O.K. I’ll stop now! Seriously, I have the best job in the world!
Meet one week old Pearson who came all the way from Oakville for his session.

Look at those squishy lips!

Stunning is how I’d describe two week old Julia. She is such a beautiful, beautiful newborn.
The first photos we took were of Julia in a very special dress. Julia’s mom wore this dress home when she was born! It’s also the dress they put Julia in the day they brought her home from the hospital. Soooo precious!

Meet 2 week old Connor who came into this world at 9 lbs 5 oz and 23 inches long….wow!
We got lots of awake shots and lots of sleeping shots. Here are a few of the sleeping shots:

Congratulations Monica and Peter and thank-you for making the trip down to Niagara from Toronto for Connor’s session.
Sam is my dad’s name…so of course I love his name! These were taken in the comfort of Sam’s home in Grimsby. We had the heat cranked up so high - I think I lost a few pounds during the shoot! It needs to by nice and toasty for the babies - so it’s whatever it takes to get them comfortable, warm and sleepy.

Sarah and Shane - thank-you so much for welcoming me into your home. It’s obvious you’re going to make wonderful parents!
Helena - isn’t that a beautiful name? She is such a beautiful baby - which is no surprise - look at her gorgeous parents!
